SHIPPING POLICY

This Shipping Policy explains how Ubuntu Store processes, ships and delivers orders within South Africa.
1. SHIPPING DESTINATIONS
Ubuntu Store currently ships to addresses within South Africa.
We deliver to most major cities, towns and selected regional areas. Some remote areas may require additional delivery time or may not be eligible for delivery.
2. ORDER PROCESSING TIME
Orders are usually processed within 1 to 3 business days after payment has been successfully received.
Processing time includes:
- Payment confirmation
- Order verification
- Stock allocation
- Quality checks
- Packing and handover to courier
Orders are processed Monday to Friday, excluding weekends and South African public holidays.
During peak periods, promotional events, holidays or high-demand sales, processing may take longer.
3. ESTIMATED DELIVERY TIMES
Estimated delivery times after dispatch:
- Cape Town, Johannesburg, Pretoria and Durban: 2 to 5 business days
- Other major cities: 3 to 7 business days
- Regional areas: 5 to 10 business days
- Remote areas: 7 to 14 business days
These timeframes are estimates only and are not guaranteed.
4. SHIPPING FEES
Shipping fees are calculated and displayed at checkout before payment.
Shipping fees may depend on:
- Delivery location
- Order weight
- Product size
- Courier rates
- Selected shipping method
- Promotional offers
Ubuntu Store may offer free shipping during selected promotions or for orders above a certain value. Free shipping conditions will be displayed at checkout or in the promotion details.
5. DELIVERY METHOD
Orders are delivered by trusted courier partners.
Courier delivery usually takes place during business hours from Monday to Friday.
The courier may require:
- A signature on delivery
- Proof of identity
- A delivery confirmation code
- Access to the delivery address
Please ensure that someone is available to receive the parcel.
6. ORDER TRACKING
Once your order has been dispatched, you may receive a shipping confirmation message with tracking details, where available.
Tracking updates may take up to 24 hours to appear after the courier receives the parcel.
7. INCORRECT DELIVERY INFORMATION
Customers are responsible for providing complete and accurate delivery details.
Ubuntu Store is not responsible for delays, failed deliveries or lost parcels caused by incorrect or incomplete information provided at checkout.
This may include:
- Incorrect street address
- Missing apartment, unit or complex number
- Incorrect phone number
- Wrong postal code
- Wrong city or province
- Unavailable recipient
If an order is returned to us due to incorrect delivery information, additional shipping fees may apply for redelivery.
8. FAILED DELIVERY ATTEMPTS
If the courier cannot deliver your parcel, they may attempt redelivery or contact you for instructions.
If delivery fails because the customer is unavailable, refuses the parcel or does not respond to courier communication, the parcel may be returned to Ubuntu Store.
Additional delivery fees may apply if redelivery is required.
9. DELAYED DELIVERIES
Delivery delays may occur due to:
- Courier backlogs
- High order volumes
- Public holidays
- Weather conditions
- Road closures
- Load shedding or operational disruptions
- Remote delivery locations
- Incorrect address details
- Supplier or warehouse delays
- Events outside our reasonable control
Ubuntu Store will make reasonable efforts to assist with delayed deliveries, but we cannot guarantee courier delivery dates.
10. LOST PARCELS
If your tracking shows no movement for an unusual period or your order appears lost, please contact us.
We will investigate with the courier. Investigations may take several business days.
If a parcel is confirmed lost by the courier, Ubuntu Store may offer a replacement, refund or store credit, depending on stock availability and the circumstances.
11. DAMAGED PARCELS
If your parcel arrives damaged, please contact us within 7 calendar days of delivery.
Please provide:
- Your order number
- Photos of the damaged parcel
- Photos of the damaged product
- Photos of the shipping label
- A brief description of the issue
Do not discard the packaging until the issue has been reviewed.
12. SPLIT SHIPMENTS
Some orders may be shipped in multiple parcels depending on product availability, supplier location, warehouse processing or courier requirements.
If your order is split, items may arrive on different days.
13. PRE-ORDER AND BACKORDER ITEMS
If your order contains a pre-order or backorder item, delivery may take longer.
Estimated dispatch dates for pre-order products are approximate and may change due to supplier or logistics delays.
14. COLLECTIONS
Ubuntu Store does not currently offer customer collection unless specifically arranged and approved in writing.
15. RISK OF DELIVERY
Risk in the product passes to the customer once the order has been delivered to the address provided at checkout, unless applicable law states otherwise.
